Abstract
Today the role of technology in human life has grown very rapidly,
especially in the industrial world. In the industrial world Friction Stir Spot
Welding (FSSW) welding process has used Computer Numerically Controlled
(CNC) based machine where the welding process runs automatically following the
specified program. In FSSW welding research with plastic specimens, the
machine that is often used is a manual frais machine. So the ups and downs of the
pin tool are driven manually and of course there is no welding data recorder. The
purpose of making this machine is to create a CNC-based FSSW machine that can
move automatically following the program, can record welding data and of
course at a low price.
The manufacture of this tool is based on cnc machines found on
the www.v1engineering.com web site, but in order to maximize the performance of
the machine as an FSSW welding machine, a redesign is carried out. After the
design is complete, steel pipe cutting and 3D printer part printing are performed
using the 3D Printer machine. After that, the assembly process, the design of
thelitrian, and the programming process.
It has successfully fabricated CNC-based friction stir spot welding
machines that use the main frame of steel pipes and 3D parts. The machine has
working dimensions of x 45 cm axis, y axis 45 cm, and z axis 15 cm. As a
dataquisition tool, the machine is equipped with a load sensor, temperature
sensor, and rotary speed sensor. Sensors – they serve to read and record data
during the welding process.
