REPRESENTASI IDENTITAS BANGSA PERSIA DALAM FILM 300

This research tries to analyse the reptesentation form of Persian idcntity in the movie of 300. One of this rescarch objective is to know how Persian identity is stereotyped by movie media of Hollywood production. Thcory framework in this research secs that movie as a representation sys-tem where its also is one of semiotic domain tradition that inctuded in communication study. This research applies a critical paradigm that sees mass media is created by dominant class for propagating its ideology to all directions especially minority class in order will bow and follow in every their step. Through that paradigm also pennits the researcher to give opinion subjectively toward rcsearched object. While research method that uscd is semiotic analysis by using model of Ferdinand de Saussure and the significant ordcr of Roland itarthes which both of them have complementary relations each othcr so there is concordance in implementing analysis toward the object of movie rescarch. Research result shows that movie of 300 describe Pcrsian as an immoral nation. It is a nation that fulled negative stereotypes labelling as barbar community and haven't a good civilization. In addition, through the movie media is also known that its representation of a nation identity can be changed, manipulated such as the project of human making that easily tumed by a new thing.
