Abstract

Today, the rate of work accidents in Indonesia is still very large. Most of
the factors that cause work accidents in Indonesia are workers' lack of awareness
in using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). By wearing PPE it is clear that it
can greatly reduce the potential for work accidents in an ongoing project. This
research examines the potential risk of work accidents that occur in a 5-storey
building project in Yogyakarta. The case study is at the PGRI Yogyakarta
University. The data in this study were obtained from a questionnaire made by the
compilers and filled in by 5 people who were included in the organization of the
lecture building construction project at the PGRI University Yogyakarta. The PGRI
Yogyakarta University lecture building construction project has 17 activities from
6 stages of work with 40 events. From all activities, work stages, and events, this
project has an average hazard risk scale of 1.69 which is included in the “Low
Risk” category with the largest risk scale of 2.16 in basement work. While the
smallest risk scale is found in the work on the 2nd floor to the 5th floor with a value
of 1.95
