Abstract

Self-concept is the competence of every individual. Self-concept
grows and develops throughout the human life span. The Qur'an states
comprehensively that humans have the potential to be physical, mental,
mind, heart and spirit. This is emphasized that positive self-concept is a
must to have for humans as noble beings from all of God's creations
(Q.S. al-Isrȃ/17: 70). The concept of self needs to be studied with
consideration of the Qur'an as a source of guidance and values for life
so that people succeed in the afterlife.
This study aims to find, and analyze the verses regarding
positive self-concept in the Qur'an, efforts to develop self-concepts
according to the Qur'an and Sunnah and their relevance to the
successful personal development of the 4.0 era. A subjective
hermeneutic approach was used in this study.
The results of the study are found: First, the self-concept in the
Qur'an is the views, feelings, and judgments of individuals towards
themselves as a result of interactions with other individuals (hablunminannas) and interactions with their Lord (hablun-minallah). Second,
the exemplary efforts, training, habituation, and guidance needed to be
developed in the Tri Education Center with takhalli, tahalli, tajalli.
Third, self-concept as part of a person's basic potential, is a talent that is
built and formed during the life span from early to adult. Positive selfconcept is very important in a person to build a career, relationships,
reputation, and life success.
