Abstract
Traffic control device (APILL) is used to reduce conflicts that occur when
moving traffic and at the same time provides opportunities for other vehicle users
to move. The smooth flow of traffic at the intersection will affect the performance
of the intersection. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect
the performance of the Kasihan APILL intersection, evaluate the performance of
the intersections, and provide technical recommendations to improve the
performance of the intersections. This research was conducted with a field survey
for data collection, which was then analyzed using the 2014 PKJI method. The
results obtained in the form of traffic flow at the intersection at peak hours 07.00 -
08.00 WIB with the highest volume of 7296 pcu / hour. The intersection capacity
(C) of the existing conditions is 268 (north), 639 (south), 1355 (east) and 1477
pcu / hour (west), the degree of saturation (DJ) is 0.85 (south) the greatest. The
longest queue (PA) is 104 meters (south) and the delay (T) is the greatest 61.905
sec (south). Based on the PKJI (2014), the performance of the Kasihan
intersection in the existing conditions was included in the level of poor service
(E). To improve the performance of the Kasihan APILL intersection, a redesign of
peak hour volume, a 3-phase design, an average redesign of one hour, and a
change in green time were carried out. The best results are a redesign of one hour
mean with the degree of saturation (DS) value decreasing to 0.670 for the south
arm, queuing length (QL) decreasing to 31 m for the south arm, and delay (D)
which decreased to 38,898 sec which indicates the performance value has
increased to D.
