*143 This study was a qualitative descriptive study that aimed to describe the rality that happened. The object of the study was Temon, district in Kulon Progo, DI Yogyakarta. The data collection technique was performed by direct interviews and literature. The data was obtained throught the resources that came from the people involved, books, journals, newspapers and the internet. Analizing using the theory of social movements and dependensia theory. The study was to see the resistance between the local people and the multinational corporation and to see the efforts of the local people to defend the land used as the construction of airport that was included in the program of Masterplan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development. Dependence of the local people on land that has been in farming for years was a source of livehood of everyday life.
