Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep pendidikan karakter
menurut Ahmad Dahlan, dan mengetahui pembentukan karakter anak dalam keluarga
menurut Ahmad Dahlan.
Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penulisan skripsi ini adalah
Analisis isi (content analysis). Dalam pengumpulan data deskriptif hanya sering
dianalisis menurut isinya, dan karena itu analisis macam ini juga disebut analisis isi
(content analysis). Metode content analysis mencakup upaya-upaya: peneliti memulai
analisisnya dengan menggunakan lambang-lambang tertentu, mengklasifikasikan data
tersebut dengan kriteria-kriteria tertentu, dan melakukan prediksi dengan teknik
analisis.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) Konsep pendidikan karakter anak
menurut Ahmad Dahlan menjelaskan bahwa yang dilakukan Ahmad Dahlan terdiri
dari tiga perkara yaitu iman, ilmu, dan amal. Iman (keyakinan) di dalam hati yang
menjadi dasar awal, yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan ilmu (pengetahuan) untuk
mendukung keyakinan yang sudah dimiliki, maka seseorang akan dengan ikhlas
melakukan amal (perbuatan) yang sudah menjadi ketentuan agama. (2) Pembentukan
karakter anak dalam keluarga menurut Ahmad Dahlan yaitu Pertama, senang sholat
berjamaah, menanamkan nilai karakter religius, Kedua, berdagang kain batik,
menanamkan nilai karakter kerja keras, Ketiga, senang berdiskusi, menanamkan nilai
karakter bersahabat/komunikatif, Keempat, senang bersedekah, menanamkan nilai
karakter peduli sosial, dan Kelima, menghargai perbedaan, menanamkan nilai
karakter toleransi.
Kata Kunci: Konsep Pendidikan Karakter Anak, Lingkungan Keluarga, Ahmad

THE CHILDREN CHARACTER BUILDING CONCEPT IN A FAMILY
ACCORDING TO AHMAD DAHLAN
ABSTRACT
This research aims to know the character building concept according to
Ahmad Dahlan and to know the character building in a family according to Ahmad
Dahlan.
The type of the research used in this undergraduate research paper was the
content analysis. The descriptive data collecting were commonly analyzed based on
the content and because of that reason this kind of analysis was called as the content
analysis. The content analysis method including efforts: the writer started the analysis
by using certain symbols, classified those data using certain criteria, and made
predictions using analysis technique.
The result of the research showed: (1) The children character building
according to Ahmad Dahlan showed what had been done by Ahmad Dahlanincluding
three matters namely faith, knowledge, and deed. The faith in the heart became the
early basic, and thencontinued with the knowledge to support the faith; finally a
person will willingly do the deed which already became the religion certainty. (2) The
children character building in a family according to Ahmad Dahlan are First, solat
together, teach the character of religious values, Second, did business of batik, teach
the character of hardworking values, Third, loved to do discussion, teach the
character of friendship/communicative, Fourth, loved to give alms, teach the
character of social awareness, and Fifth, appreciated difference, teach the character of
tolerance.
