Abstract

The global warming effects the ozone layer depletion, it cause UVC radiation that impact to human health. The aim of this research is to inspect any UVC exposure effect to hepatocyt of mice (Mus musculus). This research is experimental laboratory in vivo with post-test only control group design, which use 25 mice, female, Balb-C strain, 30 grams in weight and 3 months in age which divided into 5 groups, they are control group, 15 minutes UVC exposure group, 30 minutes UVC exposure group, 60 minutes UVC exposure group, and 120 minutes UVC exposure group. The mice on treatment group were given exposure of UVC in the morning and evening for 15 days in the aluminium box with ± 20 cm distances. On the 16th day, every mice is decapitated; taken it's liver to make histological speciment for being observed microscopically and the data will be analyzed with One-way Annova method followed by Tukey test. The result shows the normal hepatocyt in control group (C) is 35.96 ± 1.99, 15' exposure group (P1) 23.68 ± 3.70, 30' exposure group (P2) is 14.72 ± 2.87', 60' exposure group is ( P3) 3.4 ± 2.50, and 120' of exposure group (P4) 0.16 ± 0.37. The significance value in the statistical calculation is 0.000 (p <0.05). UVC radiation to the mice in this research can increase the degeneration of hepatocyt significantly in the control group to 15 ' exposure groups, exposure groups 15 ' to 30' exposure groups, exposure groups 30' to 60' exposure group and 60' exposure group to 120' exposure group. The conclution is that exposure UVC effect the hepatocyt degeneration of mice.
