Abstract
Recently there is higher amount of liver necrosis caused by hepatotoxic drugs consumption. One of many hepatotoxic drugs is paracetamol. Development of herbal therapy can be an alternative in curative treatment toward liver necrosis case. This research aims to determine the curative effect of Nigella sativa ethanolic extract to paracetamol-induced hepatic necrosis on white rat by measuring SGPT level. Research design use laboratory experiment with post only control group design. The subject are 2-3 months male white rats (Rattus norvegicus), Sprague Dawley, divided into negative control group, 1000 mg/kgBW paracetamol control group, 200 mg/kgBW extract dose treatment group, 400 mg/kgBW extract dose treatment group, and 800 mg/kgBW extract dose treatment group. Paracetamol given in 7 days continuous by 9 days extract. SGPT score measured with spectophotometer then analized with Non Parametric Test Kruskal-Wallis. SGPT rate in control negative group was measured 44,95±2,62 IU/L; in paracetamol control group was 54,57±17,19 IUIL; in 200 mg/kgBW extract dose treatment group was 49,90±6,76 IUIL; in 400 mg/kgBW dose was 72,10+25,50 IUIL; in 800 mg/kgBB dose was 41,94±6,57 IU/L. Statistical test show p = 0,426 or p > 0,005 means that there is no significance different one group another. It can be concluded that nine days N sativa seed ethanolic extract administration (200 mg/kgBW, 400 mg/kgBW, 800 mg/kgBW) to seven days administration of 1000 mg/kgBW paracetamol-induced hepatic necrosis on Rattus norvegicus doesn't decrease SGPT score.
