Abstract
Background: Blended learning is a learning method that is implemented by combining offline learning and online learning. One of the learning activities carried out using the blended method in the new normal era at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) Dentistry Study Program is the skills lab. To find out how far the success of a learning method can affect student learning outcomes and changes for the better, it is necessary to evaluate the learning system that has been implemented. Research Purpose: To find out the description of the evaluation of the application of blended learning in skills lab activities at the UMY Dentistry Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta based on the perceptions of students and instructors. Materials and Method: This study uses an observational research type. The research design is descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was all skills lab instructors and students in the 2018 Dentistry Study Program, FKIK UMY, totaling 93 people and 2019 totaling 94 people. Sampling in this study was carried out by total sampling technique. Data was collected using a modified evaluation blended laboratory questionnaire. This questionnaire consists of aspects of evaluation of the blended laboratory courses and selfevaluation & satisfaction aimed at students with a total of 10 statement items. As well as aspects of the teacher survey regarding the blended laboratory courses which amount to 8 statement items. Result: The results of the validity and reliability test of the evaluation blended laboratory questionnaire showed that there were 10 valid items for the student questionnaire, 7 valid statement items for the instructor questionnaire and 1 invalid statement item. Descriptive data analysis using total score and frequency. The results of data analysis on the evaluation aspect of the blended laboratory courses had a total score of 565.8 with a very good interpretation. While the total score on the aspect of self-evaluation & satisfaction amounted to only 481.8 with a good interpretation. The total score on the teacher survey aspect regarding the blended laboratory courses is 30.7 with poor interpretation. Conclusions: The description of student evaluations of blended learning in skills lab activities at the UMY Dentistry Study Program based on student perceptions is good. The description of the instructor's evaluation of blended learning in the skills lab activities at the UMY Dentistry Study Program based on the instructor's perception is bad.
