PENGARUH EDUKASI DENGAN MEDIA PANGGILAN VIDEO WHATSAPP TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT PADA ANAK USIA 8-10 TAHUN (KAJIAN DI RW 08, KELURAHAN JETIS, SUKOHARJO)

Background : Dental health education was an effort to prevent dental problems by increasing knowledge. Education should be given from an early age to form understanding and habits on the importance of dental health. The Covid-19 pandemic has urged the public to do physical distancing. Health information can be conveyed through social media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dental health education with Whatsapp video call media on children aged 8-10 years in RW 08, Jetis Village, Sukoharjo, Central Java. Methods: This research used a quasi-experimental study. Total sampling techniquewas used and involved 21 children aged 8-10 years. The study began with a pre-test to determine the level of knowledge, followed by dental health education through WhatsApp video calls, and a post-test was conducted to see the level of knowledge after the education was given. The results of the preetest and posttest values were tested for normality of the data with the Saphiro–Wilk and continued data analysis using Wilcoxon test. Results: The Wilcoxon test resulted of 0.000 (p <0.05) which showed that there was an effect of education using Whatsapp video call media to increas oral health knowledge in children aged 8-10 years in RW 08, Jetis Village, Sukoharjo, Central Java. Conclusion: Dental health education using Whatsapp video call media has an effect in improving in dental health knowledge of children aged 8-10 years.
