Abstract

Background : Tissue engineering has developed so that it can support tissue regeneration according to the damage. The necessary factors of bone regeneration in tissue engineering are cells, scaffolds, and signaling molecules. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), and propolis contain compounds that can act as signaling molecules. Objective : The aim of this study was to determine the number of osteoblasts in bone growth induced by the application of signal molecule incorporation materials (PRP, PRF, propolis) on synthetic coral scaffolds in non-osseous areas (in vivo). Method : The type of research is experimental laboratory. The research samples were white rats (Sprague dawley) which were given PRP, PRF, and propolis and observed on the 14th, 30th, 60th, and 90th days. The samples (n=48) were divided into 4 groups based on the time of observation. The number of osteoblasts was calculated using histological preparations at a magnification of 4x 10x to determine the area of observation, and 40x to count cells. Data analysis using One-Way ANOVA. Results : There was a significant difference between groups on day 60 (p<0.05). Conclusion : PRP incorporation produced the highest number of osteoblasts.
