Abstract

Cases of bone defects can be overcome by transplantation using tissue engineering methods. Factors that play a role in the success of tissue reconstruction, namely scaffolds, stem cells, and signaling molecules. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), and propolis contain growth factors that can act as signaling molecules. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of osteoclasts in bone formation after implantation of synthetic coral scaffolds with incorporated materials (PRP, PRF, propolis) in non-osseous areas (in vivo). The type of research is experimental laboratory. The research sample, namely white rats (Sprague Dawley) collected 48 (n=48) PRP, PRF, and propolis, then divided into 4 groups based on the time of observation. Observed on days 14, 30, 60, and 90. The number of osteoclasts was counted on histological preparations using a microscope with 4x and 10x magnifications to make the observation area, and 40x for cell counts. Data analysis using One-Way ANOVA. There was no significant difference between the PRP, PRF, propolis and control groups on all days of observation (p>0.05).
