PERUBAHAN PROFIL WAJAH PASIEN SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH PERAWATAN ORTODONTI LEPASAN PADA PASIEN SETELAH 8 BULAN PERAWATAN

Background: Harmonious facial appearance and regular arrangement of teeth are expectations that can be achieved in performing trthodontic treatment. Removable orthodontic appliances are devices that can be removed and installed by the patient and the treatment is simpler than fixed orthodontics. Side photos are an alternative to measuring changes in facial profile before and after removable orthodontic treatment. Objective: This study aims to determine the changes in facial profile before and after removable orthodontic treatment for at least 8 months of treatment in patients at the RSGM UMY. Material and Methods: This study is a descriptive observational study with retrospective cohort method. There are 12 data samples with a total sampling technique. The study data used at least 8 months of side-view reports before and after the removable orthodontic treatment. The data comes from RSGM UMY's medical records from January to December 2019. The data were analyzed descriptively and the results were presented in tabular form. Result: The results showed that there was no change between before and after facial profile after 8 months of removable orthodontic treatment. There was only one change in the profile of a straight face to a convex face in a male patient. All facial profiles after treatment were convex, namely 12 people (100%). Conclusion: There was no change between before and after facial profile after 8 months of removable orthodontic treatment in patients at RSGM UMY
