Abstract

Feedback is the information that a learner receives about their language learning process and refers to information about their language overall performance on speaking, writing even though it can also issue reading and listening, look at abilities, attitudes, effort. Feedback is a useful technique to improve language performance through sharing evaluations, worries, and recommendations about a written task or oral statement. The purposes of this study are to know the students' attitude toward teacher feedback and students' preferences of feedback and delivery feedback methods in the learning process. The respondents are the 3rd-grade senior high school students in Jambi. This is a quantitative with survey design were chosen in this research. The data were collected through a survey using a questionnaire from a total of 86 students which has been determined using cluster sampling. This research shows that students have a positive attitude (Mean=3.71) and it is represented as the students' having a positive attitude toward teacher feedback in language learning. Descriptive feedback was a type of feedback that students prefer to receive it is proof by the result (Mean=4.29) then written got (Mean=3.93) as the mean score and it means that written was the delivery feedback method that students expect to receive in the language learning process.
