Abstract
Background: COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease with a wide spectrum of symptoms. The antibody rapid test when it was used as a screening for COVID-19 diagnosis had a sensitivity of 30.1% in the first week and increased over time. Chest X-Ray (CXR) is a practical tool and can detect the progression of COVID-19. It is known that antibody titers and CXR are positively correlated with symptoms. This study is needed to determine whether there is a relationship between the results of the antibody rapid test and the severity of CXR in patients with confirmed COVID-19. Methods: The design of this study was descriptive analytic cross-sectional linking the results of the antibody rapid test with the severity of CXR. Samples were taken from medical records of confirmed COVID-19 patients from PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital in May 2020 – 2021. Inclusion criteria were medical record data of confirmed COVID-19 patients aged 15-90 years including symptom severity, antibody rapid test results and CXR results obtained taken on days 5-10 after the appearance of symptoms. CXR was assessed for severity with the modified Dr. Soetomo system. Chi-Square is used to analyze the relationship. Results: A sample of 60 consisted of patients with moderate (33) and severe (27) symptoms, non-reactive (21) and reactive (39) rapid tests, normal classification CXR (2), mild (26) moderate (25), and severe (7). The results showed that the correlation between antibody rapid test and CXR severity had p value = 0.097 (> 0.05). In addition, the relationship between the severity of symptoms on the antibody rapid test and the severity of CXR had a value of p=0.871 and p=0.275 (>0.05). Conclusion: The results of the rapid antibody test in COVID-19 patients did not have a significant relationship with the severity of CXR in patients with moderate and severe symptoms. The relationship between the severity of symptoms on the antibody rapid test and the severity of CXR was also not significant.
