Abstract

Illegal logging still occurs and leaves a lot of wood waste.. Using a thermoelectric generator, the waste heat can be converted into electricity. So it is necessary to design a charcoal furnace that can be used to apply a thermoelectric generator. This study aims to utilize the heat in the charcoal kiln as a source of lighting for the charcoal maker. This research method includes designing and manufacturing charcoal stoves. In addition, an analysis of the heat distribution in the charcoal furnace is carried out with the Solidworks 2021 thermal contour simulation software, so it will be known how much distribution will occur in the charcoal furnace. Then it will be known several tools including: dimension, extrude boss, extrude cut, and assembly. Making a thermal contour simulation with Solidworks 2021 software. This charcoal making furnace has specifications made from plain carbon steel JIS G 3141 which is coated. The results of the simulation analysis of the thermal contours are indicated by 6 Contours of heat distribution in the charcoal furnace. The red color means the highest temperature is 160 and the lowest temperature is marked in dark blue with 70 . Of the 6 points, the temperature is different, the first point with a temperature of 158 , the second point with a temperature of 144 , the third point with a temperature of 126 , the fourth point with a temperature of 106 , the fifth point with a temperature of 91 .
