Abstract
Indonesia is a country that is prone to natural disasters, one of the natural disasters that often occurs in Indonesia is flooding. When a flood disaster occurs in an area, it is necessary to measure the depth of the flood, this serves to reduce the occurrence of accidents when a flood occurs. To reduce this risk, a vessel that measures flood depths is designed using a catamaran hull, then the design results will be simulated using software. Design and numerical simulation in this study using Maxsurf software. Determination of the main size of the ship using trial and error method. By using Maxsurf software, several parameters can be known including resistance, power, and displacement. The calculation of the resistance in this study uses the holtrop method, with variations in speed of 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s, 1.5 m/s, 2 m/s, and 2.5 m/s. The design of the ship with a displacement of 1,665 kg, obtained the main size of the ship L: 60 cm; B: 30 cm; H;15 cm; T: 6 cm. Based on the numerical simulation results obtained resistance and power with a speed of 0.5 m/s (0.46 N; 0.23 W), 1 m/s (1.6 N; 1.6 W), 1.5 m/s (3.18 N; 4.77 W), 2 m/s (4.92 N; 9.83 W), and 2.5 m/s (6.89 N; 17.22 W). From the results obtained, the graph will form a linear trend. Thus the speed of the ship will affect the resistance and power generated. The higher the speed of the ship, the greater the resistance and power generated.
