Abstract

The development of technology in this modern era is increasingly advanced and growing. Electronic devices are currently growing, to facilitate human activities. Rainfall in Indonesia is very high when the rainy season comes, causing flooding. Measuring the depth of the flood is very important to know, because there are some dangerous points where the depth of the water is not known. From these problems, a catamaran ship that detects flood depths was made to measure the dangerous point. The construction of a catamaran that detects flood depths uses multiplex/plywood material which is coated with fiberglass fibers which are smeared with liquid resin so that the construction is stronger and impermeable to water. The process of making a catamaran that detects flood depth starts from the preparation of tools and materials, the fabrication stage where the material is patterned according to the design and cutting is done, the assembly stage of the ship's parts will be gluing and coating fiberglass fibers, and the finishing stage of the ship is painting. The process of using multiplex material is relatively faster than using other materials, due to the nature of the multiplex/plywood which is easy to shape like cutting and has a light weight so it is very good to be used as the basic material for making walls and ship hulls. The materials for making catamarans that detect flood depths are: multiplex 3 mm 122x122 cm, fiberglass fiber 100x100 cm, polyester resin 500 ml, catalyst 25 ml, glue 48 ml, alfaglos putty 400 ml, epoxy filler 200 ml, nippe super white paint 200 ml , 150 ml green nippe paint, 75 ml gray nippe paint, 75 ml yellow nippe paint, 200 ml clear nippe, and 2 liters of thinner impala.
