KEBIJAKAN LUAR NEGERI INDONESIA DALAM KERJA SAMA DENGAN TIONGKOK PADA PEMBANGUNAN INFRASTRUKTUR MARITIM DI INDONESIA TAHUN 2014-2019

This paper aims to analyze why President Joko Widodo made China a cooperation partner in maritime infrastructure development in his 2014-2019 era and to find out the factors that influenced President Joko Widodo in making Indonesia's foreign policy. In this research, the writer uses descriptive analysis research type. The method used is a qualitative analysis technique to answer the formulation of the problem at hand. The findings in this study are related to the reasons President Joko Widodo cooperated with the Government of the People's Republic of China in the development of Indonesia's maritime infrastructure in the era of President Joko Widodo's administration in 2014-2019 because: First, Indonesia's national interest is to realize Indonesia as the world's maritime axis; Second, Indonesia's economic condition has not been able to meet the financing of maritime infrastructure development; Third, the condition of the Indonesian military which still requires the expansion of cooperation with China; and Fourth, China's interest in building a new maritime silk route through the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) policy with various facilities in the form of investment and financial assistance offered by China for the development of Indonesia's maritime infrastructure.
