Abstract

Karangsari Village is one of the reference villages in independent waste management activities. The development of independent waste management still does not have a rapid development. Of the 5 hamlets, only three were selected as hamlets that have implemented the program to the fullest, namely Garungan Hamlet, Karangsari Hamlet and Sukosreno Hamlet. This study aims to determine independent waste management and determine the relationship between factors related to independent waste management in Karangsari Village, Wonosobo Regency. The study was conducted in Karangsari Village by purposive sampling, namely with the consideration that Community Forest Farmers in Karangsari Village have been running an independent waste management program on a regular basis starting from 2018. The sample in this study amounted to 45 community forest farmers using random sampling technique. with the help of a random sampling table. The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis, score achievement, and Spearman Rank correlation analysis. The results of this study indicate (1) Independent waste management activities include community social activities with the aim of reducing the volume of waste and are in the high or good category with an average score of 4.28 with an average percentage of 85.6% which means that independent waste management can run according to the applied concept. A supportive attitude will certainly create community forest farmers' participation in the sustainability of waste management activities. (2) Factors related to independent waste management as a whole have a significant value and a positive value with a unidirectional relationship.
