Abstract
Background: Road traffic accidents are most likely to be suffered by all road users. In Indonesia, motorcycle accidents are still the most common type of road traffic accident. There are differences in the pattern of abnormalities in each road traffic accident. Analysis of abnormality patterns can help determine the required driving safety support. This study purposes to determine the variation in the pattern of abnormalities in patients who use motorcycles due to traffic accidents. Methods: This study is a descriptive-analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. Secondary data were obtained from electronic medical records of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping and medical records of RSUD Panembahan Senopati in 2018-2020. Results: A total of 250 samples were included in this study, it was found that most of the patient characteristics were male (62.4%), aged 17–25 years (25.6%), stayed for 2 days (27.2%), had a fracture (71.6%), had an abnormal region in the head (38.0%), had a non-collision accident (43.5%), and was a rider (33.3%). There is statistically significant relationship between the presence of bone fractures and the length of stay of the patients. There is no statistically significant relationship between the patient’s position and the number of abnormal regions
