Abstract
Background: Scabies disease is a condition in which the mite species sarcoptes scabiei hominis variety infests the epidermis of human skin. The body parts that are often the areas for scabies mite infestation are the areas between the fingers and toes, wrists, elbows, armpits, and genitals. This scabies disease often occurs in Islamic boarding schools or densely populated areas. This study aims to determine the relationship between clean and healthy living behavior on the number of cases of scabies disease in PAY Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Methods: This research is a non-experimental quantitative observational study with a cross-sectional approach, namely studying the correlation between scabies risk factors, using an observational approach. This research was conducted at PAY Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Mergangsan, Yogyakarta City. Held in August 2021 - November 2021. The results of the questionnaire will be analyzed by bivariate testing. This study was conducted to find the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable with the Chi Square statistical test, with a significant level of 0.05 (95% confidence level). Basis of decision making with 95% confidence level. Results: There were 54 (85.7%) respondents experiencing scabies disease during 2021 and as many as 36 (57.1%) respondents had low PHBS levels. The results of the Fisher's exact test in research on clean and healthy living behavior from cases of scabies disease at the Muhammadiyah Putra Orphanage Orphanage in Yogyakarta showed that there was no relationship between clean and healthy living behavior with a value of 0.597 > 0.05. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between clean and healthy living behavior in PAY Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta residents with the number of cases of scabies disease
