Abstract
Baground : Preeclampsia is a disorders which there are many sign, like hipertention, proteinuria, and edema which generally occur after 20th week, in preeclampsia usually characterized by increase blood pressure to ≥140/90 mmHg and proteinuria ≥ 1 + dipstick/ 24 hour. Risk factor in preeclampsia devided into two group, non-modifiable risk factors and modifiable risk factors. For non-modifiable factors, such as, age, gravidity, and family history of preeclampsia. While modifiable factors there are body mass index and knowledge. Methods : in this study researcher use observasional study with cross sectional design. And use Chi-square test, with the significance level of 95% which includes the analysis of univariate and bivariate to variable body mass index in PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping hospital for the period January 2019- December 2020. The sample was obtained 78 respondent, there are 28 primigravida respondents, and 51 multigravida respondents. Result : result of bivariate analysis, the variable body mass index in primigravida, BMI in third trimester obtained (p = 0,384), while the variable body mass index in multigravida, BMI in third trimester obtained (p = 0,956). In this analysis, it can be seen that there is no significant corelation between body mass index and the incidence of preeclampsia in primigravida and multigravida. Conclution : There is no significant corelation between body mass index and the incidence of preeclampsia in primigravida and multigravida
