Abstract
Background: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a health problem in the form of infection that is often experienced by pregnant women. The presence of morphological changes in pregnant women can affect the organs of the body, especially the urinary tract. In addition, other risk factors that can affect the incidence of urinary tract infections, one of which is leukorrhea. Efforts to reduce the incidence of urinary tract infections require knowledge of risk factors for urinary tract infections, especially leukorrhea. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about leukora with the incidence of urinary tract infections in pregnant women at Puskesmas Gamping I and II. Methods: The research design used is quantitative with an analytical observational method with a cross sectional approach. Cross sectional is a study that examines the relationship between the independent variable (leukorrhea knowledge level) and the dependent variable (urinary tract infection of pregnant women) at one time. The data used are primary data using a questionnaire for the independent variable (leukorrhea knowledge level) and secondary data using medical records to analyze the dependent variable (urinary tract infection of pregnant womenThe research was assisted by midwives and medical record officers. This study was conducted for 2 months with a total of 64 pregnant women who met the research criteria. Results: Based on statistical tests, this study obtained the level of knowledge of leukorrhea in pregnant women in good category as many as 51 (79.7%) respondents, sufficient category 11 (17.2%) respondents, and less category as many as 2 (3.1%) respondents. The incidence of urinary tract infections during pregnancy reached 21 (32.8%) pregnant women. Hypothesis testing was carried out using chi-square with p value (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge of leukorrhea with the incidence of urinary tract infections in pregnant women
