Abstract

ynchronous meeting is online learning using live-meeting communication between teachers and students. In synchronous online learning, students’ engagement is one of the important aspect that can affect students’ achievement. The more the students engage, the better the students’ performance. This research aimed to investigate specifically how much effect of students’ engagement in synchronous meeting towards students’ achievement conducted in one of Islamic private university in Yogyakarta. This research used quantitative study using Ex post facto research design. There were 140 students in English Education Department who followed this research as the participants. The researcher used questionnaire and document score to collect the data. The research used regression analysis to analyze the data. The result showed that the p-value is 0.00. It means that alternative hypothesis is accepted. Hence, there is a significance effect of students’ engagement in synchronous meeting towards students’ achievement.
