Abstract

Plaque is soft deposit on the surface of the tooth which consists of microorganisms that proliferate in an intracellular matrix. The plaque will disappear when cleaned by brushing your teeth properly. Irene's Donut is the education method is a software simulator caries is done individually by including parents. Conventional counseling is the education orally with the help of props are done individually. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of plaque score done after education with the method of Irene 's Donut and conventional counseling in children 7-8 years age. The method used is a quasi experimental. A sample of 30 children taken with purposive sampling of children 7-8 years age. The children performed measurement of plaque score done before education as a pre test data Two weeks after education, the children were given treatment measurement of palque score as post test data. The data were analyzed using by statistical Paired t-test and Independent Sample t-test. Paired (-test results showed that there significant difference (p<O, 05) plaque score done before and after education. Independent Sample t-test results showed that there significant (p<0,05), which means there are dij'erences influence the education of the reduced plaque score between the education with Irene 's Donut and conventional counseling method
