Abstract

Bedside Teaching is one of the methods in nursing clinical learning at Diploma and Undergraduate nursing levels. Clinical learning methods influence the achievement of student competencies, especially students' cognitive and psychomotor abilities. This study aims to describe how tedside Teaching improves student competence. This research is a literature review approach where the research sources are taken from four databases, namely PubMed, ProQuest, Ebsco, and Google Scholar. The keywords used were "Bedside Teaching AND Competencies AND experimental study". Initial search results based on inclusion and exclusion criteria found 652 articles (Ebsco 287 articles, ProQuest 315 articles, PubMed 15 articles, and Google scholar 35 articles). The final results after being reviewed and synthesized using CASP found obtained 6 articles that meet the requirements. Bedside teaching methods at the pre rounds stage that can be used in health education are tutorial based teaching, bedside teaching modules, and case based teaching. The bedside teaching method can improve student knowledge, skills, professionalism and clinical organization. The bedside teaching clinical learning method can improve students' clinical competence, both hard and soft skills.
