Abstract
The Student Dormitory building is a new building planned by Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University as a residence for students which is located just north of the campus. This building consists of 14 floors which include LG (Lower Ground), G (Ground), Mezzanine, UG (Upper Ground), Floors 1-10 and RoofTop Floor. In the design of this installation using calculations that was adjusted based on PUIL 2020. The design consists of designs for lighting (lamps), socket-outlets, and AC (Air Conditioner) requirements. The calculations included in the design of this installation are determining the power supply needs from PLN, transformer capacity, generator set (genset), capacitor bank, main CB (Circuit Breaker), power factor improvement, voltage drop calculation, short circuit current and lightning protection system. Based on the design, the apparent power value before repair is 1417.1 kVA, reactive power is 805.0 kVAR and cos phi value is 0.8. The capacity of the capacitor bank was added based on the improvement of the 0.9 power factor, which is 250 kVAR. After the capacitor bank was installed, the apparent power value is 1291.5 kVA. The required power supply from PLN is 1385 kVA, the capacity of the transformer used is 2000 kVA and the capacity of the Generator Set is 1650 kVA. The protection system was used is the flash vectron that is installed in as many as 1 (one) pieces.
