Abstract
At this time, construction development is growing very rapidly, one of which is in concrete technology demanded to be more innovative. The utilization of palm oil shell waste as a substitute for coarse aggregate is very beneficial. This partial replacement of coarse aggregate reduces waste from piled oil palm plantations and makes environmentally friendly concrete with maximum compressive strength. The addition of fiber increases the strength of concrete. In this study, concrete was manufactured using a portion of palm oil shell waste as a substitute for coarse aggregate by 10%. This value is the optimum value used in several previous studies in palm oil shell waste. This study used 20 specimens in the form of a cylinder with a diameter of 75 mm and a height of 150 mm with a design compressive strength (fc') of 30 MPa. In the concrete fabrication, the fas values vary by 0.37 and 0.48, and the added material of mask fiber are 0% and 0.20%, superplasticizer 0.25%. There are five treatments (curing) of concrete, i.e., soaking in plain water, saltwater, lime water, leaving it in the open air, and covering it with wet burlap. Several methods are used to determine the various curing and fas values and which are effective and have the highest compressive strength. Then a compressive strength test will be carried out when the concrete is 28 days old. Based on the tests carried out, the highest compressive strength value was found at the age of 28 days of 31.32 MPa using the burlap sack curing method, the fas value was 0.37, and the mask fiber was 0.20%.
