Abstract
The habit of watching English movies is one of the efforts to enhance vocabulary. This study aimed to determine the degree of association between the habit of watching English movies and the level of vocabulary mastery among students. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a correlation design. Data was collected using questionnaires and vocabulary tests. The respondents of this study were students in Class XI science 1-4 at SMAN 3 Metro. A total of 108 students respondents consisted of female 71 students (65.7%) and male 37 students (34.3%). The results of this study indicate that the habit of watching English movies correlates with students' vocabulary mastery. The results of this study show the total (M= 3.304, SD= 0.405). This is included in the category of students with the habit of "Always" watching English movies. In addition, the level of students' vocabulary mastery in a "Good" category is shown according to the results with a value (M=75.65, SD=13.186). The results showed a value (p = 0.027, p <0.05), meaning that there was a correlation, and for the value of r = -212, this was included in the low correlation category. This study has a correlation, but it is negative, and the interpretation is a low correlation. The hypothesis alternative (Ha) is supported because the value of p<0.05 means a significant correlation between watching English movies and vocabulary mastery.
