Abstract
Utilization needs to be done to reduce environmental pollution due to palm oil shell waste, namely: one of them is replacing some of the coarse aggregates with oil palm shells in the concrete mixture. In this study, the percentage of oil palm shells used was 10%, and this value has been used in several previous studies as the optimum value. Concrete with palm kernel shells usually has a low flexural strength, so it is necessary to add additional mask fiber material to strengthen the concrete so that it has a high flexural strength value. In addition, concrete with palm oil shells and mask fibers needs to be reviewed under rusty conditions to determine the performance of the concrete in rusty conditions. This study used 14 specimens in the form of a beam with 10 x 10 x 50 cm with reinforcement with a diameter of 12 mm consisting of 4 normal specimens (0% corrosion) and ten corrosion test objects. The ten reinforcements in the test object will be accelerated by corrosion according to a predetermined time and the desired corrosion rate based on Faraday's law. Therefore, the accelerated corrosion reinforcement is used as reinforcement in the concrete to be cast. On 28 days old concrete, the flexural strength test was carried out using the Universal Testing Machine. The highest flexural strength test results on the test object E with a corrosion rate of 5% with an average of 1.905 MPa. From the research, it can be concluded that the increase in the percentage of corrosion in the reinforcement causes a decrease in the flexural strength value
