HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN BATUK DENGAN TINDAKAN SWAMEDIKASI BATUK PADA MASYARAKAT KELURAHAN MULYA ASRI, TULANG BAWANG TENGAH, TULANG BAWANG BARAT, LAMPUNG

The results of the 2020 Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Survey, showed that 72.19% of Indonesians took self-medication to treat their illness. Cough is a mild disease that can be treated with self-medication. This has been increasing since the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. Knowledge of cough is very important in order to be able to take correct self-medication measures in order to prevent medication errors. This research was conducted to determine the relationship between the level of cough knowledge and the act of cough self-medication in the community of Mulya Asri Village, Tulang Bawang Tengah, Tulang Bawang Barat, Lampung. This research is an observational study with a cross sectional research design. Sampling using Probability Sampling with the Cluster Random Sampling method in Mulya Asri Village, Tulang Bawang Tengah, Tulang Bawang Barat, Lampung in September – October 2021. The data collection in this study used an equestionnaire and the total number of samples that met the inclusion criteria was as much as 100 respondents. Analysis of the relationship between the level of knowledge of cough with cough self-medication measures was carried out using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results of study indicate that 96% of respondents have good cough knowledge and 4% of respondents have sufficient knowledge. Then the analysis of cough self-medication measures showed that 97% of respondents had good actions and 3% of respondents had quite good actions. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge with cough self-medication measures with a significance value of 0.000 and a low correlation relationship with an r value of +0.351.
