Abstract
This study aims to explain the personal profile of students with angry attitudes duetoonlinegame addiction at SMPN 1 Tempilang, Bangka Belitung, while at school and home, todeterminethe role of BK (guidance and counseling) teachers in overcoming the angry attitudes of studentsdue to online game addiction at SMPN 1 Tempilang, Bangka Belitung, to find out is thereachangein the behavior of students with angry attitudes due to online game addiction after receivingservices by BK teachers at SMPN 1 Tempilang Bangka Belitung. The subjects of this studywerethe principal, guidance and counseling teachers, a student with initial RH, and other studentsatschool as additional informants. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collectiontechniquesinclude observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. This study indicates that MobileLegends online games have a bad influence on the student with initial RH at SMPN1Tempilang,especially on changes in attitudes, namely being too easily provoked emotionally. Whenheplaysgames, he forgets about time. It starts from school until late afternoon. Even at night, heplaysonline games. From this, it can be seen that RH has become addicted to Mobile Legendsonlinegames. Even when he defecates, he carries a cellphone to the toilet to continue playingwiththereason that he does not want to lose. If RH plays online games and suddenly loses, he immediatelygets angry and takes spontaneous actions such as talking to himself, getting angry withhimself,saying rude things, hitting the table, hitting the mobile phone, and hitting the wall. The roleof theBK teachers at SMPN 1 Tempilang is as an informer, mediator, facilitator, and counselor. Indealing with cases of angry attitudes due to online game addiction on students, BKteachersmadeseveral ef orts; namely, first, BK teachers took precautions. Second, they carried out guidanceandcounseling activities to process student-related problems. Third, they collaborated withparentsifthe BK teacher and the school had dif iculties overcoming the problem and used the methodofindividual directive counseling. After being provided with counseling services by the BKteacher,there have been changes, such as he never fights again, yells, speaks harshly, gets angrywithhimself, hits school and home facilities, is willing to obey his parents’ orders, andacceptshisparents’ advice.
