Abstract

Rice is a promising commodity to be cultivated organically but still requires attention in the optimal use of production factors to achieve maximum results. The control of production factors is still limited in number by farmers while high production and profits are expected. The aims of this study are i) Knowing the production factors in organic rice farming in Sleman Regency, ii) Knowing the costs and benefits of organic rice farming in Sleman Regency, iii) Analyzing the use of production factors in order to achieve optimal conditions in organic rice farming in Sleman Regency. Based on data from the Department of Agriculture of DIY, there are 5 farmer groups that cultivate organic rice, then a survey was conducted and found 70 organic rice farmers as samples. Data obtained by interview technique using a questionnaire guide. Then the data were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively using farm profit analysis, and optimization analysis using linear programming. The results showed that the production factors in organic rice farming in season 1 and season 2 included land with an average land area of 1.555 m2 , seeds with an average use of 3,73 kg and 4,05 kg, solid organic fertilizer with the average use of 431,43 kg and 467,86 kg, liquid organic fertilizer with an average use of 2,43 liters and 2,84 liters, and labor with an average use of 16,08 HOK and 16,45 HOK more use a lot of labor outside the family. The average total cost incurred by farmers is Rp. 2.540.263 for season 1 and Rp. 2.622.826 for season 2 with an average profit of Rp. 2.414.237 in season 1 and Rp. 2.181.888 in season 2. Optimization analysis shows that the optimal allocation of production factors for organic rice production activities is the use of farming land area of 3.110 m2 , the use of labor of 32,15 HOK, the use of seeds of 7,45 kg, the use of organic fertilizers solid is 826,86 kg and the use of liquid organic fertilizer costs is 4,86 liters. The effect of changes when there is an increase in the availability of costs, and selling prices or a decrease in the prices of production factors by 10% shows that the maximum profit increases when compared to the actual profit.
