The existence of the children of mental retardation in moslem families are always seen negative view by part of Moslem society. Actually the family what had the child of mental retardation must be happy, they should. be given by appreciation for growing better in their real life. They should not to be separated from the milieu of his family both family and social. Although the fact, they are to be a child handicap but Al-Qur-an says, the child is something that given the value for family. They have ability like normal child.Therefore , the childern of mental retardation need much more supporting by people especially members of family is needed the future
The research has some aims., they are to know : 1). How long are the function of parents role for education , guidance to the child of mental retardation, 2). How to get information about mental perception by his parents for his child handicap and 3). What factors does it support and problems in growing process for child especially family and milieu.
The research is compiled by means of quality method and by descriptif method. For collecting the data by means of some techniques as follow I ). Observation, 2). Questionare, 3.). Documents and 4). Intervieu
From the research result, the writer gets conclusion that the function of parents role for children of mental retardation or disabaility. Generally, the guidance of basis parents role has be done better by responsibility. But, the fact not all families know the function of parents role and never having concept the education for his child. Therefore, all families has made a great of effort to educate and grow their children in family as well as.
