Abstract
Background: Nearly 1.7 billion cases of diarrheal disease occur in children and kill
around 525,000 children every year, this makes diarrhea the second leading cause of
death in children under five in the world. The average prevalence of diarrhea among
children under five in Indonesia is 11%, and in Yogyakarta it is 7.4%. The prevalence
of diarrhea in Bantul district is 12%, this result shows Bantul district with the highest
prevalence of diarrhea among children under five in Yogyakarta.
Purpose: To identify the health literacy capital of millennial mothers in PAUD KB
'Aisyiyah Surya Melati Brajan regarding toddlers in terms of social background
and the role of information technology.
Method: Quantitative research with cross-sectional method, with the research
subjects were millennial mothers in PAUD KB 'Aisyiyah Surya Melati Brajan,
selected randomly by means of simple random sampling. Data obtained by
interview via WhatsApp telephone based on a questionnaire. Using the Spearman
test to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and behavior with
the role of information technology and education and work.
Results: A total of 28 respondents almost all have good knowledge (96.4%), good
attitude (96.4%), and good practice (85.7%). There is no significant relationship
between knowledge and practice with the role of information technology, but there
is a relationship with attitudes. In education and work there is no significant
relationship with knowledge, attitudes, and practices..
Conclusion: Knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers regarding the
prevention and management of diarrhea in toddlers are good. However, even
though it is categorized as good, there are still some things that need to be
improved. Therefore, the provision of proper education in accordance with the
guidelines for therapy plan A from WHO and Diarrhea CROSS is very necessary.
