Abstract

During the pandemic learning methods were changed to online-based learning, online learning was carried out to help teachers and students keep their teaching and learning process running. In the process of online learning has challenges faced by teachers and students. Therefore, this study aims to find out challenges are felt by teachers and students. This study uses qualitative research methods in which the data collection is using interviews. The participants in this study were three English teachers and three students who were in class 11 of high school. This study found four challenges felt by teachers and five challenges felt by students, including those felt by teachers, namely Teachers lack technology literacy, Technical Problems, Lack of learning interaction, Having miscommunication with students. Meanwhile, the challenges felt by students were Technical Problem, Students lack of understanding the material, Student are not confident to ask the teacher, Students indiscipline, Lack of self-study ability.
