Abstract
Quizlet is an application that can help people learn English vocabulary in new ways, with flascard, games, and quizzes. This application can make learning vocabulary more fun. The aim of this study is to find out wether implementing quizlet in vocabulary learning can help students improve their vocabulary or not. There was one question addressed in this research, which was “Does implementing quizlet significantly improve vocational highschool students’ English vocabulary size?”. In this study the researcher used quantitative research approach with quasi experimental design. This research was conducted at Accounting Department in a vocational high school in Temanggung. The data of this research were collected from the pre and posttest given to the participants. The participants of this research were 70 Accounting students who were divided into two classes. There were one group of control and experimental. The treatment given by the researcher to the experimental group was, utillizing quizlet application in learning vocabulary. Whereas the control group was learning vocabulary without any application. The researcher gave the treatment 5 times each group. In addition, the findings of this research showed that there was a signifcant improvement in vocabulary understanding, between the group who were using quizlet in learning vocabulary and the group who were not use quizlet. The mean score of experimental group improved from 4,820 in pretest to 10,906 in posttest. The mean score of control group improved from 4,626 in pretest to 7,291 in posttest. The result of the t-test statistical analysis for experimental group in posttest showed that tscore = 14.724 was higher than ttable = 2.035, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that quizlet application was effective to improve students vocabulary.
