Abstract
The need for electrical energy from year to year always experiences a very large increase, the increase in electrical energy every year is one of the factors for increasing people's welfare. Until now, electrical energy is still supplied by conventional power plants sourced from fossil fuels which will eventually run out. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources issued regulation Number 4 of 2020 concerning the second amendment to the regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources number 50 of 2017 concerning the use of renewable energy for the provision of electricity. One of the alternative energy potentials that are environmentally friendly and easy is the use of solar energy. This study discusses energy conservation in the mu'alimin dormitory building using renewable energy. The method used is technical and economic analysis. The PLTS system uses the HOMER application for 100% of the daily energy needs of the mu'alimin building. In the design of HOMER solar panels, 140 panels with a capacity of 700 wp brand amso solar (AS700S9) are needed, the inverter used is XTH 6000-48 with a capacity of 48 V with a total of 72.0 kW. The result of the most optimal system configuration is the on-grid system the value of the Net Percent Cost issued is Rp.- 615,917,976.00, Cost Of Energy is Rp. -2.141, Operating Cost of Rp.- 63,044, Initial Capital of Rp. 470.416.341.30, and ren. Freq is 79.2%.
