Abstract
The growth of motor vehicle ownership in Yogyakarta has an impact on increasing the need for infrastructure, especially roads, so that it can increase the amount of traffic volume that causes accidents. Toyan-Brosot roads is a provincial road with the function of a class II primary collector road that connects Yogyakarta with Purworejo. The location of the study was carried out on Jalan Toyan-Brosot km 6.4 to km 9.2 which is an undivided two-lane two-way road. The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of accidents, analyze geometrics, analyze the volume capacity ratio (VCR) to vehicle speed and analyze VCR to accident rates. The methods used in this study include secondary and primary data analysis. The results of this study showed the type of front-front (22%), front-side (35.94%), and side-side (33.25%) accident potential with the highest front-side potential of 147 (35.94%). Police accident data for 2019-2021 were successively 39, 34, 39, with front-side being the highest type of accident. The results of geometric analysis using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 found that the curve (100%) did not meet the regulations, 3 gradients (100%) met the requirements of maximum slope and critical length, and the vertical curve consisting of 1 convex and 1 concave all met the regulations. The VCR values of morning, afternoon, evening are sequentially 0.26, 0.23, 0.25 at a speed of 55.39 km/h, 58.69 km/h, 56.31 km/h then the relationship of VCR with speed was inversely proportional. The VCR value from the DIY Transportation Agency obtained the highest results in 2019, 2020, 2021 respectively were 0.73; 0,46; 0.58 with an accident rate of 1.41; 1,11; 1.26 while in 2022 the highest VCR value is 0.26 with an accident rate of 12.67, the relationship between VCR and the accident rate is directly proportional.
