Abstract
Background: Surgical procedures performed on patients achieve a significant increase in numbers. The surgical procedure will cause tissue injury and can affect changes in the body's physiology. Pain that is not treated immediately and improper management of actions will prolong the healing process for the patient. A complementary therapy that is widely used or recommended is the murottal therapy of the Qur'an. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of murottal treatment in reducing the pain level of post-operative patients. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design, pretest-posttest with a control group design with a total sample of 36 respondents divided into two groups. The intervention group of 18 respondents was given Murottal Therapy for 30 minutes 6-8 hours after being given pharmacological therapy. Meanwhile, 18 control group respondents were observed without being given Murottal Therapy. The techniques used are consecutive sampling and data analysis tests using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney. Results: The analysis showed that before Murottal Therapy was carried out, most of the respondents on the moderate pain scale were 13 people (72.2%). After Murottal Therapy, most of the respondents on the scale of mild pain were 12 people (66.7%) who showed a significant difference in Murottal Therapy to the pain level of post-operative patients (p = 0.000). Conclusion: This study proved that Murottal Therapy is effective against pain levels in post-operative patients. Suggestion: This study can be used by a nurse as a non-pharmacological application to reduce pain levels in patients.
