Abstract

The Indonesian fashion industry is experiencing rapid development and cannot be separated from the influence of globalization and modernization. Moreover, Indonesian Muslim fashion is not only in demand by the local market, but also internationally. This makes the fashion industry sector face a wider challenge to be able to increase the marketing of its production not only on a domestic scale, but also internationally. The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has made efforts to market the product, but it still needs to be evaluated to encourage enthusiasts from the global market to buy and use Indonesian Muslim fashion products. Moreover, there are many competitors from the Muslim fashion industry itself. Therefore, this article will analyze the Ministry of Industry's strategy in encouraging the Indonesian Muslim fashion industry in the global arena in 2016 2020. This article uses a qualitative descriptive research method with data collection sourced from the Ministry of Industry's official website and other government official websites. This article concludes that the Ministry of Industry's strategy in encouraging the Indonesian Muslim fashion industry is to; (1) make the textile industry a priority sector for development in the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map; (2) encouraging the development of market players in the Muslim fashion industry, which is dominated by IKM; (3) organizing various fashion shows; and (4) establishing an e-Smart IKM program.
