Abstract
Bantul district will continue to be improved. Accident data from Satlantas Police Bantul from the year 2018-2021 times as many as 2066 times the incident of accidents, because this study was made to identify traffic accidents and provide solutions for accidents in accident prone areas. This research using the Accident Equivalent Number (AEK) method, the Upper Control Limit (UCL) method and using primary data and secondary data obtained from Satlantas Police Bantul. The results showed that the highest accident prone areas were located in the Yogyakarta-Bakulan (Parangtritis) road so that it was obtained 3 (three) the location points designated as accident prone areas, namely at the intersection of three State Junior High School 2 Sewon, at the intersection of three traffic lights for the Timbulharjo State Elementary School, and at the intersection of four Manding, Karya Bhakti Husada Nursing Academy. An analysis of the highest number of traffic accidents occurred in 2019 while the lowest in 2021. Recommendations for handling accident prone areas in the Yogyakarta-Bakulan (Parangtritis) road could be done by clarify road markings and road shoulders that have faded, signposts setting up, clarifying zebra crossings that are no longer visible in order to reduce pedestrian accidents, repairing convex mirrors that are no longer visible which are full of scribbles, fixed the APILL lamp which was no longer working.
