Abstract
Artificial Intelligence is a technology that combines several disciplines that can be used to solve various kinds of problems by imitating human intelligence. Currently, there are many technologies that utilize Artificial Intelligence in various fields, one of which is in the field of education which is used as a learning medium. By looking at current technological developments, the introduction of artificial intelligence from an early age is an important thing that must be done so that children can get to know the making of learning applications for the introduction of Artificial Intelligence, be able to form positive perceptions and get an overview of the characteristics. Text Detection is an implementation of Artificial Intelligence where this application can read text from images, videos and cameras. Text Detection using the JavaScript programming language with the Tesseract.js library. The method used in collecting research data is experimental observation in which there are pretest and post-test. Respondents who took part in the experiment were 5th grade elementary school students. The results showed that 38% experienced an increase in knowledge about Artificial Intelligence, 40% did not experience changes during the experiment, 18% got neutral results when conducting experiments because they could not experience changes in perception and as many as 4% experienced changes in wrong because they could not increase changes in perceptions when conducting experiments. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the application made is correct and has been tested without experiencing errors during the experiment, with the Text Detection application being able to introduce Artificial Intelligence applications to children and increase knowledge about robots, the Text Detection application has the following characteristics: as follows: the characteristics of being able to read text from images through the screen, detecting text from the camera and also reading text through videos, in this study experiments can shape children's perceptions in operating applications and children's perceptions of artificial intelligence are a science that must be learned from an early age.
