Abstract
Rubber Tire Crumb is one of difficult waste to decompose, one way to reduce pollution is by utilizing it in the construction sector to replace some of the fine aggregate. Fly ash is a waste of hazardous and toxic materials that can pollute the air, to reduce air pollution caused by fly ash, one of which is used in the construction sector to replace some cement. The method used is make a cube-shape mortar with RTC variation 0% and 40% with fly ash variation 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fly ash on compressive strengthof mortar at age of 28 days. Compressive strength testing is using an universal testing machine. The result of the test show that the highest compressive strength is found in mortar RTC 0% with fly ash content of 20% of 9,36 MPa and in mortar RTC 40% the highest compressive strength also found in the use of 20% fly ash with compressive strength of 2,49 MPa. From the test, it can be seen that RTC can reduce the highest compressive strength up to 82,96% of the compressive strength of mortar without rubber at 30% fly ash content. The optimum level of using fly ash in the mortar mixture is 20% to increase the compressive strength.
