Abstract
The increase of motorized vehicles in the Special Region of Yogyakarta has an affected on the increase in traffic volume which has an impact on road safety.. Murtigading – Pantai Kuwaru road segment is a primary local road which provides access to tourist attractions. The geometric factor of the road is one of the causes of accidents on Murtigading – Pantai Kuwaru road segment. Therefore, the purpose of study is to identify the characteristics and potential of accidents, evaluating road geometric, road fixtures, and road completion buildings with road safety inspection (RSI) according to the regulations Bina Marga Pd.T-17-2005-B, analyze road geometric use AutoCAD Civil 3D, analysis of relationship between volume capacity of ratio (VCR) and speed, and analysis of relationship between VCR and accident rate. The method used is a quantitative method that analysis primary and secondary data. Analysis accident of the Bantul police 2017-2021 on Murtigading- Pantai Kuwaru road segment showed total the number of accidents was 45. The type of front-angle was 25 (55,56%), head-on 2 (4,44%), rear-end 7 (15,56%), sideswap 6 (13,33%), single 4 (8,89%), and human crash 1 (2,22%). The results of the RSI assessment of road width, lanes, and road shoulders do not meet the requirements of Bina Marga 2021. The results of AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling obtained 14 bends with 2 (14%) bends not meeting the requirements and 14 slopes with 2 (14%) slopes exceeding the minimum slope limit. The relationship between VCR and speed in 2022 obtained a morning VCR at a speed of 0,26 at a speed of 47,57 km/hour, an afternoon VCR at a speed of 0,18 at a speed of 49,96 km/hour, and an afternoon VCR at a speed of 0,22 at a speed of 48,34 km/hour, the higher VCR value, vehichle speed will be lower. The relationship between VCR to number of accidents, the higher VCR value, the higher the accident rate.
