Abstract
This research discusses the Islamic Education teachers’ effort in improving the learning achievement of the students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research aims at finding out the Islamic Education teachers’ effort in improving the learning achievement of the students, the learning method used, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the learning achievement of the students at SMP Negeri 1 Godean during the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of this research was descriptive qualitative. The research objects involved the Islamic Education teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Godean. The data were obtained through observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis was done through data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the efforts made by the Islamic Education teachers in improving the learning achievement of the students during the Covid-19 pandemic are: having a discussion with the students, giving assignments, using entertaining learning media, providing learning motivation, cooperating with the students’ parents, and having the learning evaluation. The learning method used by the Islamic Education teachers in improving the learning achievement of the students at SMP Negeri 1 Godean during the Covid-19 pandemic is: using the Problem Solving and Role-Playing method. The supporting factors in improving the learning achievement of the students at SMP Negeri 1 Godean during the Covid-19 pandemic are: using the communication media, possessing the learning facilities, and cooperating with the students’ parents for learning at home monitoring. The inhibiting factors in improving the learning achievement of the students at SMP Negeri 1 Godean during the Covid-19 pandemic are: limited internet mobile data, lack of learning activeness, and low student motivation.
