Abstract
Background: Diabetes melitus (DM) is a chronic disease that can affect various groups of people, including the elderly, adults, to children and infants. This disease is associated with metabolic disorders characterized by blood sugar levels that exceed normal limits (hyperglycemia). Purpose of the study: To determine the effectiveness of the hospitalization process for diabetes melitus patients by involving the family. Methods: This study is a case repost on the effectiveness of nursing care in patients with diabetes melitus in the hospitalization process by involving the family to reduce blood glucose levels of patients who are not controlled with reference to the examination of Current Blood Sugar (GDS). Results: The results showed that the problem of unstable blood glucose levels was resolved, judging from the results criteria stated that the patient was not weak and the patient's blood glucose level was improving, GDS: <200 mg/dl. Self management DM Mrs. The R which was carried out by involving the family with monitoring every 2/3 hours showed effectiveness in reducing uncontrolled blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus, this was indicated by a decrease in the results of the Current Blood Sugar (GDS) examination at the time of the monitoring. Conclusion: The stability of blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus can be maintained by self-management of DM by involving the family. Self-management of DM patients by involving the family has proven to be effective, this is evidenced by the results of the interventions that have been carried out on Ny. R is a decrease in blood sugar levels while (GDS).
