Abstract
Background : celery extract are commonly consumed by most of people to flavoring a food. Unconsiously there is a compound of celery that is very useful, It is flavonoid. It can be used as anti fungal, however it can used to cleansing a denture. Purpose : the aim of this study is to know the most effective length of time utilized a celery extract in acrylic resin to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans. Methods : the study has been using 30 acrylic resin disk with the size of 10mm x 2mm and submerged of celery extract with a concentration 50%. The disk were divided into 3 groups of treatment there a submerged for 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, and also 3 acrylic resin disk as a control that submerged into sterile aquades. Then, Saboroud’s Deztrose agar was used for growing Candida albicans and they were incubated at 370 C for 48 hours. Result : the result of study indicate that there is difference of each treatment that statistically significant (p<0,05). Conclusion : The most effective length of submerged time to inhibit the Candida albicans colony is 6 hours.
